Sorry for the delay in response. Out of town, away from internet for 2 days and the post went a page or two back.
The PSE Fang shoots at 345 feet per second. Prior to this, I used a Bear Devastator. That thing is about as loud as a train wreck but still did the job for many years. The Fang is pretty quiet, at least in my opinion. I bought it at Cabela's with a coupon for $279. That was with the PSE scope and 3 bolts. Check around a local archery shop to see if they know of anyone in the area that has one. See if they can demo it for you to see what you think about noise and speed. If you are around south eastern Indiana, I would be available.
