I've got a 1959 MF50.....The PTO shaft is spinning, even when in the "neutral" position. i.e. The tractor is moving, running forward, the PTO lever is in neutral, but the PTO shaft is spinning. I had a so-called tractor mechanic work on it and fix it (not sure if he did a darn thing). What is my problem and where should I start? This is dangerous as well as a nuisance, because any implement I hook up is now engaged. The shaft does not spin when the high/low is in neutral and the tractor is stopped, and does not spin when the clutch is pushed in. Please help.....
