Selling privately will get you the most money, but is the most work for you and will take the longest. You need to know about the tractors, and have an idea of a REALISTIC value if you want to sell them. You can ask for the moon if you really don't care how long it takes to sell, but don't be surprised if some tractors never sell.
Hiring an auctioneer gets the tractors gone as quickly as possible, but you can't guarantee how much money you'll get, and you'll have to pay the auctioneer a percentage of what you get no matter what. Prices tend to be lower unless you have some special rare tractors in unusual condition (i.e. fully restored, or original untouched).
Take the tractors to a consignment sale only if you just want to get rid of them and don't care about how much money you get. Consignment sales are where people get rid of their junk, so they assume anything brought in is junk, and pay junk price.
