We get several spam calls a week. Yes, we are on the "do not call" list. No, we don't answer them. No, we don't want them. And, no, we don't give out our phone number to anybody or post it on the WWW for the world to see. A few months ago, I was getting about 2-3 spam calls a day on my cell phone, which I don't give that number out either. A law to make the phone companies block these calls? Somehow, the spammers will get around it. I've mentioned this before and I'll say it again 'till I'm blue in the face, but the only way to block spam calls is to hit them in their pocketbook. This will never happen, but if I was president (and oh, lordy, I don't ever want to be president....), I'd pass a law that IF THEY WANTED IT, have every holder of a telephone number have the option that you receive a nickle or dime into your savings account every time you get a phone call. Remember, this would be an option. Make it genuine cash, not a "credit" or a discount coupon. If you place a call, a nickle or dime won't hurt you. However, if you have some company making millions of calls per year, it WILL hit them in the pocketbook and the calls WILL stop. Another BS "do not call" law on the books is just more BS.

Some of my fondest memories of these visits are those of learning to drive a tractor at the helm of Uncle Cecils 1948 Farmall Super A. Uncle Cecil was the second owner of this wonderful little tractor, but it was almost as though he had adopted an infant. The original owner was a man from Minnesota who bought her from a local dea
