I do not want to tar and feather the Amish and Mennonites who uphold the principles of their faiths but there are plenty of dirtbags in each community that do no such thing in their daily lives. They have their kids work very many hours and some at very young ages. Things that would invite the county social services to rain down on us. One time I asked the Amish up the road from us for help around the farm one day and they were going to send down a girl who was barely ten years old to do heavy labor. She was physically slight to boot so I said "No thanks" due to both age and ability.
