Nice to see that truck. Our department is in the process of getting rid of its twin. I think ours is a 67 with the 345, 1000 gallon tank and it was still the snappier truck we have. A few years ago we got rid of the origional truck, a 54 Ford with a Mormon Harrington 4wd. We have gotten back into getting trucks from the Nebraska Forestry Service. We can "buy" a truck for $500, modify it to our job (within guidelines, like tank size) and use it for as long as we need it but when we are done it goes back to the Forestry service. Here is a pic of our newest truck we are working on. It now has a 1200 gallon tank, and we are putting nozzles on the front for grass fires. It is like driving a pickup, disengage the brakes, push forward or reverse and press the go pedal, I like it with the exception of potential problems with electronics.
