Every purchase I make on ebay is with guaranteed satisfaction from them, not necessarily the seller.
Most sellers go out of their way to get 5 star results as ebay frowns on anything less. As a result, most every site has a disclaimer indicating that they want to and will work with you to come up with an equitable solution in case of a disparity. Most take returns. Those that don't are ones that bought out an auction, like an estate auction, and have no use and no way to deal with returns. I had a couple of variations from normal in my many purchases the last couple of years.....probably 200 or total purchases, amounting to several thousand dollars and have not had to zap one seller.
2 of my purchases were BS vertical shaft engines, 18 and 20 hp V twin, new but from surplus manufacturing or such. Engines hadn't been mounted as the mounting slots were untapped....engines mount with self tapping screws on the lawn tractor assy lines. One had a JD sticker another had the sticker removed. Course all the engine info is stamped on the valve cover so you can easily find out the particulars. Both worked flawlessly and I am enjoying them today.
