It was not equipped with a Temp gauge from the factory (probably optional in later years). Prime the oil galleries by pumping engine oil into them with a pump oil can till it gets harder to pump. A small rubber hose works well. Originally positive ground, but unless the new voltage reg says it is specific to one polarity, making it negative ground is fine. Polarize the gen by putting a flash of positive battery volts to the A terminal. It will spark, it needs to. put the neg coil terminal to the dist, and pos to ignition switch. Reverse the connections to the amp meter. A ballast resistor from a 66 Chevy 6 cylinder impala will be fine. Jim A shop teacher teacher at SCSU MN.
