I have no evidence to support that claim, I just kind of made that statement in passing. I got that idea from my Dad, who was a pilot, had every known flying magazine subscription at the time. That was interesting reading to me because one of them had a regular feature called "Yesterday's Wings". While absorbing all these articles, one of them was discussing airspace, saying, among other things, that it was illegal to erect spite poles. I wondered for 40 years how one could erect a pole long enough to discourage airplanes, and concluded it would have to be something akin to a radio tower. Seems to me it would be more cost-effective to cover your property with WWII camo netting.
