On one hand, I'm very much against the regulation of drone aircraft. Nothing more than basic rules should be needed. The real problem comes from the myriad of onboard electronics that also invade privacy. Maybe instead of letting the gov't run things, maybe we (the somewhat-free people) can simply find the owner of a drone that we suspect of invasion of privacy and request to review their video footage. If they have none, then no problem.
Now the problem gets a little trickier when you have a camera that transmits its info to some ground-based receiver somewhere, as the owner could still claim there is no video when in fact there is.
