A couple of years ago my S.I.L.s log splitter began leaking quite badly around the shaft.
It was not your usual log splitter ram as it was originally an attachment for a Troy-Bilt rototiller. It had an unusually wide groove that used a 3.75" O-ring with a matching teflon split "backup ring". Never saw that before and I learned a lot about O-rings before that job was finished.
