Your situation is one of the few times I would look at an IH 800 4 row plate planter if you are adamant about using plate-type seed as you get modern style depth control and closing mechanisms. You also need to consider how it will be harvested and the size of the equipment in terms of it being capable of wide rows or narrow rows. If it is to be a one row picker then it does not matter.
