You never know what people get attached to. Elderly friend, now deceased, kept her son's decrepit cadillac in backyard shed for better part of twenty years. The son had died relatively young, only in his 50s. The car was from the mid-70's and cheap when he bought it--maybe $500 at most. Just an old land yacht that was now home to mice, cats, whstever could find their way in. When the shed roof was collapsing onto the car (she was in a rental prop and the owner had no interest in repairs), I suggested a scrap hauler could take it away. She cried when the towman dragged that old heap out of there.
BTW for Kubota prices here on east coast, last auction i went to they were selling good machines with loaders for $8k-$11k. I suspect it may have been a dealer
