I posted this on stovebolt but just don't seem to get the traffic and worldly smarts we have here (no offense to those smart guys!).
I'm hauling millings for a new 60x80 shed for the farm. The water pump on the old 58 GMC grain truck is starting to weep. The bearing is fine but the seal is shot. Based on this, I'm pretty sure if I could find either a kit or an actual pump I would be OK.
I've searched the Internet and have come up with numbers that aren't available when it comes right down to it. There must not have been enough rebuildable cores for the Airtex ones, etc.- at least that was the theory at Napa. Every number in a post or website has been a strike out.
Does anyone have a pump or rebuild number for the GMC 270 engine with the middle size pulley width (I think it is 9/16)? This is the first time that a specialty site like Jim Carter couldn't help me keep the old dog on the road and I need to keep it going!
