Every time I ever looked through the employment want ads, I always saw an abundance of ads for "activists." At one point, many years ago, I answered one of those ads, and went to an interview. There are actually whole organizations that hire people to travel to controversial events and places to "protest" for hire. Their pay structure includes extra pay for longer distances, bonuses for getting arrested, and the like. A good many of those "protesters" are only there for a paycheck, and in many cases don't even know why they are there or what they are protesting. Somehow, my conscience and upbringing would not allow me to participate in such a fraudulent activity.
