Thats good advice BUT what the DR will tell you and what effects you may be very different. I went to classes with a dietian and most of the things she said were safe to eat will drive my blood sugar off the wall. Some friends of mine are also diabetic and I can eat things that they cannot. One thing I found for me is saurkraut. I have to be very careful when I eat that as it will cause my blood sugar to take a big drop causing low blood sugars. I use to be able to eat taters but anymore it causes my sugars to spike off the scale. The ladies at the VA worked with me one on one for several months until we got things figured out.
