"Why so much of (fill in the blank)?" Because I'm keeping a lot of 50+ year old equipment working, not a SUV under warranty. Because I watch for sales and try to stock up to save a few dollars when I can because I need them elsewhere. Because a ruptured hydraulic line or blown seal doesn't lose just a "quart". Because a broken or lost bolt isn't just 15 cents at a hardware store, it's a trip to town and an hour and a half out of my day. A trip to the barn for that item I need is more time to throw a stick for the dog, or find a way to annoy the better half.
Why would I NOT have enough of (this or that) here for most occasions? I was a Boy Scout, and I still believe I should "Be Prepared".
