Get someone to check the battery yourself with a load tester, if you don't have one.
Last fall, my wife had her Chrysler T&C at our local NAPA shop for an oil change. The manager called me and said the battery tested very weak, and wanted to know if I wanted him to go ahead and install a new one. I told him I'd take care of the battery.
When my wife got home, I checked the battery myself. It was only a year old and tested perfectly normal with my load tester. The guy at NAPA was trying to pull a flat out scam. Fall is when everyone is wondering is their battery will make it through the winter, so batteries are an easy scam in the fall.
