Hello All!
found this group as my friend's 1970 JD 400 loader motor died, and I started searching for options.
Seems injector knock led to damage in one cylinder- engine could be rebuilt, but first I put out ads locally looking for a diesel or gas engine for JD 400 loader or 2020 tractor.
Got a response from a fellow with a 1964 Dagenham/Ford 220: engine was rebuilt and has sat in his shop for years and he wants rid of it for cheap or free- looks like this engine is a 3.6 litre 4 cylinder; close to the 3.3 displacement of the original.
The motor is a bit of a drive to look at: first I'll measure overall dimensions and look at bolt pattern and output.
Apparently the Dagenhams were used in all kinds of trctors and equipment~ I'd never heard the name till today, though.
Anyone out there know of easy engine swaps into JD?

The warm glow of yellowish light can be seen for quite some distance at dusk, and
