I used a 3 inch metal pipe and welded 1/4 inch flat metal to pipe in 3 places. Had pre drilled holes in flat metal so I could use bolts holding scraper edge to back blade to hold pipe in place. Got everything lined up and welded flat metal to pipe.
I would have used 4 or 5 inch pipe if I had some. I used what I had. I like the pipe so well, I never remove it.
When I remove snow, I can hear when pipe comes in contact with gravel, then I raise the blade a tick.
