All of these years and I still have no idea how to put text at the top of pictures. They are iPhone so some of you pic folks probably see them sideways. Sorry.
So I replaced park light bulbs yesterday and took some pictures. No, I'm not upgrading to sealed beam. I love those huge lights and am pretty good choring with the Braille method, anyway.
Anyway, the first pic is the original Chevy glass. I don't see that it is cut in any way beneficial to a high or low beam. Second is the bulb placement in the silvered backing dish. They have these new but they aren't the original silvered style and I'd rather have the original than a knock off junker so I can buzz along at 45 miles an hour. The third pic shows the bulb not quite close enough but you can kind of see the filaments have no special placement. I love this style of parking light where the whole light itself glows about three watts worth with the parking light on. The empty socket at the top is that bulb. The last is a closeup but I'm not sure it helps. The filaments are an eight of an inch apart, totally parallel, and both in the center of the works so there is no clear "dim" filament. They both have 31 candle power so there isn't a clear winner. I even turned off the shop lighting and switched wires. The light isn't directed different either way.
I guess I just run what I have looked up. It's not like I'll make people mad on the two miles between farms. Go ahead and flash. I've seen bike races with brighter headlights.
