We had had freezing rain here all day. It really is not building up much as the temperatures are above freezing for the most part. So we have wet ice. The roads are not bad to get around on but the drive ways are tough right now. So even with chains on all four wheels on the tractor and the feeder wagon having chains on both wheels your still slipping around. One feed bunk has the yard tapering away from the bunk. I could not keep the feeder wagon close enough to reach the bunk. I tried it twice and finally dumped the feed on the ground and went and got the skid steer (had chains on it too). I then just bumped the feed into the bunks bucket at a time. Spread two loads of sand in the cattle yards to help prevent any injured cattle.
The brood cows did not come up to the house at all today they stayed in/under the pine trees at the back of the pasture. They actually stayed pretty dry under the trees. They are smarter than a fellow thinks. If they have feed and water plus some thing to help shelter them out of the worst weather they will do fine on their own.
