Dad took us kids by where the circus was setting up when I was a kid. The only animals that I saw were some elephants being used to hoist the big tent. The circus had a lot of old chain drive trucks; don't know what the trucks were used for back then. We couldn't afford to go to the circus though.
I didn't get to see the circus until I was an adult. Just happened to be in Milwaukee when the circus was in town and I could afford a ticket then.
I've seen the circus train go by the last two years on the rail line a mile from our house; guess I won't look for it anymore.
