My worst time ever was when one Monday morning when I was installing an overhead conveyor track in a factory setting. I came in not feeling too good and was on a ladder about 20' in the air. I had forgotten my gloves and did not want to climb back down and get them,(mistake#1) so I decided since it was just one weld I would do it bare handed,(mistake#2). Struck the arc with the 7016 rod and was doing well with the vertical bead until I smelled something burning. The flux from the 7016 rod had dripped down and gone int the low top shoes (mistake#3). Hence the dilemma. My sock was burning and also beginning to get to my foot and here I was 20' in the air on a ladder, all I could was hang on and work till I got the sock stopped from burning. Needless to say my helper on the floor had a good laugh.

Dad bought the 202 new in 1962, and I recall quite clearly going to the dealer with him to sign for it.
