Never heard of such a thing as a gun ID but then your out there on the east coast where the y do funny things some times. Guess years ago I got lucky when the cops stopped me in NY for cracked windshield that they did not look real good in my van since I had a rifle under the bed but that was also back in the 70s so I might have been legal. Don't think I could handle living where one has to have a special ID just to have a gun. That is one reason I never tried to get a CCW here in Missouri I did not want the extra paper work which I do not think one should have to have. Now as of Jan 1st I can carry concealed and be legal in Missouri with no paper work
