Just ONE handfull under each set of drivers has got me out of serious trouble in a truck stop with a rear lot tapered toward the back and everyone was getting closer to the end. Was Thick Ice and was raining bad..that 2 handfulls of Salt brought us all the way out and onto the road..( full gross load, Pete ).. If some just gets lodged in the tire tread it can help more than you expect.. I always carried 5 or 10 lbs in the Truck..got laughed at if someone saw it, but it sure helped us many times..
