I agree with Old Popper, it's a matter of respect. The younger generation for the most part is raising themselves without any guidance. Both parents work and the kids are left in daycare. The daycare workers just keep them from hurting themselves or others. Then when the parents have them they are too tired to tend to them. You see kids in the stores damaging inventory while the parents are standing right there ignoring them. When I was young if I had done that I would have been disciplined right there on the spot and again when I got home. Then when these kids grow up they think nothing about doing what ever crosses their mind. I fear if things doesn't change soon this society will break down in total anarchy.
