It's really a callous and morbid thing to say, but these shootings are really the price of freedom. We can't predict what people are going to do, especially if they hide it well, be it mental illness, criminal intent, or whatever. We can't throw people in jail or commit them for what they *might* do or what we think *might* be going on inside their head.
