For years FHA and VA require certain things be up to code, one is having a permitted Septic. Many old homes don't have a permitted septic, so guess what, sell an old house and you may be installing a septic. Can't sell an old house without load center having a minimum of a 100 amp load center, no fused, all circuit breakers. Look for lead testing, paint and now water. Radon testing.. Asbestos Where will it stop? Will plumbing and old wire be looked at more closely? Windows have to be upgraded, insulation, who knows where it will end up.
