My wife and I have been foster parents for 8 years. We have had children for a couple days and we've had children for a couple years. When we took MAPP classes we were told that if you were foster parents long enough eventually you would be accused of abusing a child - usually in a Xual manner. The accusation could come from a child (usually 8 to 17) or a parent that thinks of the people caring for their child as the enemy. It was simply a matter of time. We have had one accusation of abuse leveled at us by a DNA donor from her jail cell that resulted in a criminal investigation. Our children and my wife an I were questioned by the police, our license was suspended for two months and eventually the accusation was determined to be unfounded. The person making the accusation suffered no consequences. We still do foster care but this possibility is always in the back of our mind.
