What shape are the sickle guards in? It cuts like a scissors, it needs a sharp sickle -and- a sharp edge on the guard as well. Often times the guards get overlooked and have rounded edges, works in dry stems but messes you up in tougher situations. Also the driver. Forget if you have a wobble box or a pitman, anyhow that can get loose. Might spin ok by hand with no load, but it will wiggle under a real load. And then, assume you have a floating sickle, are the anchors on the sickle back good and solid, sometimes a anchor breaks, the sickle hangers there nice, but slide it on the dirt and that section deforms or allows the whole back to rock side to side opposite of the sickle.....
