Quick visit with the attorney that handled the estate should give you all the answers you need. This is what they are paid for and should expect these kind of late billings on occasion.
I will venture a guess the attorney will draft a quick letter telling the claimant to go pound sand but that opinion is not based on any first hand knowledge.
