chris, i'm not too far from you. i have corn standing to combine, too. i'm not very worried about my corn blowing down at this point. i accept that the outside rows will be stripped clean by the wildlife. while it would be nice to have it all done by now, circumstances (my case- 9 weeks in the hospital so far)say that i'll either have to hire it combined @ $50/acre or wait until i can get on my own combine to pick it. i'll wait. as long as you get your rent, let (pretty sure i know who you rent to) him take the yield loss.
