Gary, I'm glad you pointed out my post is about a homeless man becoming homeless again around Christmas time. It's more about people trying to do something for the homeless.
Here is another story about a man who became homeless because his trailer burnt.
I poor man in WTH trailer burnt down. Keep in mind this side of WTH, 99% of the homes are per 1985 single wide trailers. Trailers I call a cardboard boxes covered with a meatal can. They have 2 inch walls, crank out windows, aluminum siding, metal roofs and difficult to heat and cool.
The man was given a free older mobile home, pre 1985 mobile, and authorities wouldn't give him permission to relocate it on his property. Keep in mind, the trailer he was given was newer and in better shape than most of his neighbor's trailers.
Area planning has killed the single wide trailer business in my county.
So people who put a mobile home on their property years ago for a family member to live in can't sell it, can't move it, can't even give it away.
I know of a father and a son business who has torn down over 3000 mobile homes/trailers in my county. I know of banks that won't lend a dime on a property unless all trailers are removed.
So in a way, this homeless story has a page two. Page two is how my county hates trailers and wants to see them gone, except for trailer parks which now have to be licensed. And some trailer parks that couldn't pass inspection and get a license went out of business. Those still in business are slowly dying because no one replaces the old trailers. People trying to sell the old trailers are finding it next to impossible to get someone to buy them. They are lucky to sell them on contract if the park owner approves. geo
