What it needs is the smaller Marvel S carb that was used on the early 50's M Moline model U 283 engines. My 4020 has worked right for the first time in it's life since I fitted that smaller carb. I know, I know you just know in you heart that it cant possibly work, although mine has been a joy to use summer and winter for the last 25 years since I did the conversion. They need this smaller carb, they need a larger starter and a stronger than stock ignition to fix the factory made disaster JD pushed off on the public. But then it can't possibly be fixed, so haul it off for scrap.
