I was referring to trying to be a cheap skate. And the reference is that diesels burn less fuel and have longer engine life. Most often that translates in to less cost over the life of the vehicle. It's the reason that farmers, construction and trucking companies buy diesels!
Diesel won't start in the cold? Just how cold does it get there? Here we have lots of people who drive diesels and farmers who use diesel tractors in the winter just fine. My diesel tractors that I use in the winter starts fine without aids often at -10/-15F. Just gotta know how to take care of em!
