What do you have for a welder? That's going to dictate what you can use. If your welder has DC capability, DC reverse polarity (aka electrode positive) will give better penetration than AC or "straight" (electrode negative) polarity.
6010 (DC reverse) and 6011 (AC) give the deepest penetration of generally available electrodes. They also work the best on rusty steel. However, they take some time to learn, so don't use them on your trailer until you feel you've mastered them. 7014 and 7018 give acceptable penetration and are easier to use.
