AMEN !!!!!!!
If it weren't for the electoral college, every election would be decided by the three States of California, New York and Florida.
You would have no voice whatsoever. Your State would not even need to cast ballots because it wouldn't matter.
The candidates wouldn't even bother to campaign in the other 47 States and more importantly, the President and others wouldn't listen to our representatives we send to Congress if we don't have equal representation. The States are to be on equal footing when it comes to elections regardless of population thanks to the electoral college. Those of you who want only a popular vote had better be careful what you ask for. If your not happy now, just think what this country would be like if only one area of the country made all the laws you have to live by. If you think you're loosing your freedoms now by an oppressive government who doesn't listen to you, then just imagine what this country would be like if it were run by the financially and morally bankrupt on the left coast.

Think of it this way, you live in your State FIRSTLY. Your State is then United with other States into one nation SECONDLY.
This is why people get upset when the Federal Government over-reaches it's authority. The Federal Government is not supposed to have power OVER the individual States but power FROM the individual States.
I pledge allegiance, not to the flag of the American Nation, but to the flag of the "UNITED STATES" of America, and to the "REPUBLIC" for which it stands....... a definition of a republic....a group with a certain equality between it's members.
