The Cub is too small to run a hammer mill, just not enough power, would not even be able to get a 10" mill up to speed empty. You might, just might be able to run a 6" mill at 1/3 or less capacity. For a 10" mill that was the standard size you need at least 25 HP on the belt. I know the small JD B with about 23HP could only feed slowly and have to stop for things to regain speed. The newer B with 28HP handled it without having to let it regain speed but that was still only partial full, not anyware neer full mill capacity. Saw yes, mill no.
