This statement surprised me a bit: "The runner up bidder was the Pontiac Museum from Pontiac,Michigan." As someone who spends a lot more time than he would like in the fair city of Pontiac, MI, I was surprised to learn about this museum. Turns out it's not in Michigan but rather in Pontiac, ILLINOIS, a city with NO historical connection with the Pontiac automobile or the ill-fated tractor company of the same name. The actual name of the museum is the Pontiac-Oakland Museum (Oakland being the original GM brand produced in Pontiac; the city of Pontiac is the county seat of Oakland County.)
