If you replace the bearings and set the pinion as best you can it will probably be OK. A neighbor got a W6 from his uncle. They used it for a lot of plowing and the right axle bearing and spacer were about gone throwing the bull gear out of whack. Someone had worked on the transmission years before and the pinion shaft had 1/4 inch front to back. I looked at it and figured out the bearing retainer was put in backwards. He put it all together and it's been fine. Those spur bevel gears are not real critical.
