I've read in these pages more than one time about whether to paint or not paint our tractors. I don't really want to start that discussion, but rather tell about my father's paint history. He was a mechanic by trade, but was raised on the farm. When he semi-retired from wrenching he started playing with old Molines, mainly to pull with. He'd get em running good, sell one once in a while, work on other people's stuff, but only painted when he was paid to. One morning he was at the fill-up mart with my BIL having coffee with the boys when someone asked him when he was going to paint one of them old tractors to which he replied "l wanna keep em original " . My BILs response was, Well originally, they had paint on em! Needless to say it was sometime before the laughter subsided. The next day he went and ordered a gallon or two of paint. Still makes me smile to this day.
