If the lights are 110V AC powered, which I assume since you say you want to use a generator, it's pretty simple.
You can use regular household work boxes for your wiring inside the trailer. Campers are wired with Romex, but when I did my shop trailer I used 12-3 outdoor-rated bulk power cord cable.
For the shore power cable, you can get porthole to poke it through, or an RV shore power inlet, at any RV dealer or supply. The porthole was only a few dollars, but requires drilling a circular hole in the side of your trailer.
