I suppose it would depend a bit on what it is, how much you use it.... and how hard it would be to split again if you're not satisfied with the results of not replacing the disc. For the most part, on my own stuff... I would change it without a second thought. The one exception might be something that is basically a show tractor or something... Anything that is 'here' that works... I'd change the disc. It's just not worth the risk of a do-over... and even if you do succeed in getting it somewhat clean it will still never be the same.
