Sounds like my neighbor's field. He said for years he was gonna cut the hay off it, but hadn't for 20 years. And back when he used to do that, he didn't move the previously baled bales until he had to cut it the next time. He came one day wanting us to farm it, so we said we would. It was the roughest field I've ever been in. Back in the day, we never saw him out there with his plow. When asked about it, he said his 6 bottom plow had a couple bad bottoms so he took them off. The second and fourth one in from the front. And on top of that, he had never learned to plow either, he plowed like you would run a drag harrow. We farmed it a couple years before he said he wanted to plant it to hay now that we got the ground level and the soil built up. That was 2 years ago, now full of trees and weeds. At least it will be smooth for the next guy.
