Is the pump going in a well; or cistern that collects rain water? Any idea how deep? I'm not a real pump expert but to fix the pump you will most likely need to utilize that covered hole in the roof. Most pumps like that had the pump section down at the bottom under water. So you have to pull it out to fix what is stuck on the bottom end. If it is very deep things get a little complicated when you don't have the windmill tower over the top to support it.
