Danny I am in Dover Tn about 100 miles north of you. I sow wheat around the 20th of Sept ever year. Use it around our goose pit. Just disk that mud and try and level it down and throw about 2oo lb to acre of triple 15 fertilizer and may be 100 lb of wheat per acre. You will have a green spot for the deer and a start for you yard. Wheat is easy to get sowed just a little spreader of some type and drag something over it or roll with a cultipacker if you have it.
