I recently got a David Brown 885 that belonged to an old family friend that passed away a few years ago. The people that used it in the years following really trashed it . When i got it , it had sat in a barn for about 4 years. Flat tires, wiring was scrambled and cut . And a dried up pile of dirt under it where it had leaked the hydro fluid out. We aired up the tires and loaded it on a truck with a winch to haul it home. Removed and cleaned the diesel fuel tank , changed the fuel filters, bled the fuel lines ,put a battery in it and fired it up . I will be replacing most of the wiring , putting a new manual, stock fuel pump on it . ( The old pump was disabled and they added an electric one which puts too much fuel in the system.) I need to find a new air cleaner top , the main part is complete, just missing the cap. The lever for the hydraulics has been snapped off, so i need to replace that. Hopefully someday it will look like new. looking to verify what tyepe of oil is used in the hydraulic system on this . Also looking for cosmetic parts as well .
