Different cultures treat head covering differently at ceremonies. Orthodox Jewish customs or military treatment of cover, hand over heart or stand at attention- a sign of respect and courtesy from a different culture is still a sign of respect and courtesy. A deliberate act of discourtesy and publicly admitted as Kaepernick stated for whatever reason is 'protected speech' and has to be legally tolerated-- but social shunning, refusal to do business with discourteous one is also 'protected speech' and criticism of discourtesy a long as it doesn't reach threat or intimidation, assault speech is legal also. Doesn't mean much at times, but may relieve some stress so a violent action isn't taken. RN
