There are a lot of auto supplier jobs open around here. But most are hiring thru temp agencies, and only pay about $10 per hour. A lot of workers left Michigan during the recession, and nobody is coming back. I do know that the Local 58 Electricians have added a lot of apprentices in the last year.
Another factor is that drug testing is mandatory, for insurance reasons.
